Introduction to Structure in Scene Plot

Structure is the main foundation in forming a strong and evocative storyline. When discussing structure in the world of cinema, a scene plot is a sequence of scenes that plays a central role in organizing the scenes into a coherent and in-depth story. This article will discuss why structure is so important in forming an interesting storyline and how structure plays a role in connecting each scene into a complete story.

Why is Structure Important in Shaping a Storyline?

The plot scene structure is like a framework that provides the basis for each element in a story. Without a good structure, the storyline tends to be chaotic and difficult for the audience to follow. Structure provides direction and purpose, maintains story cohesion, and ensures that each scene has a clear role and meaning.

The world of cinema is full of competition, a strong structure is the key to captivating the audience and making the story memorable. Using the right structure can keep the audience emotionally invested and involved in the character's journey. The structure also allows the audience to experience tension, surprises, and exciting climactic moments.

Scene plot is also called treatment (treatment) or also plot list which is written only with scene headings and a short description. There is no dialogue and the scene details are long and sequenced by number. Figure 1 shows the 3 main processes in film writing, namely the story idea, synopsis and script. Writing the scene-plot occurs between writing the synopsis to the complete film script.

The function of Structure in Tying Each Scene into a Whole Story

The plot scene structure is a guide that directs the course of the story. Every scene in a film plays an important role in developing characters, revealing conflicts, and directing the storyline in a certain direction. Structure helps arrange these scenes so that they connect together smoothly and produce a cohesive story.

When writing a film, writing out the structure first can help filmmakers choose which scenes to include, how to arrange the sequence of scenes, and when to reach peak tension. So when following the right structure, filmmakers can create an interesting and unforgettable cinematic experience for the audience.

In this article, we will take a deeper look at the role of structure in forming a strong storyline and how plot scenes are the key to connecting each scene into a complete story. By understanding the importance of structure, filmmakers can create work that amazes and inspires.

When talking about scene-plot, we are talking about scene (scene, page 2 below the right box), action (action-reaction) and beat (dialogue). This article specifically discusses action and reaction in action.
