Beef's premise; struggle and hope of an Asian born American who wants to cope with trauma with being successful
Perhaps the unexpected meeting of these two people was the catalyst that set them on a path towards discovering the reasons behind the events in their lives. It marked the beginning of their quest for understanding. Perhaps the need to find a way to release their pent-up emotions and trauma, either through catharsis or some form of outlet. They seem to repeatedly hurt each other, with the belief that their actions will not have any lasting consequences. However, when one of them faces a problem in their life, they quickly blame the other for their misfortunes.
We see them blaming each other for their life's calamity and continuing to have ill will toward each other. With them seeing the worst part of each other since the very beginning, the graph can only go up. As cliche as a nemesis-to-lover trope in the film industry can be, the flip between these two characters are nowhere to be foreseeable.
In the 9th episode, there is a shift in expectations as the audience anticipates the main characters dying together without a closure, but instead in the final episode, they rely on each other for survival and even Danny trusting Amy to eat some wild berries that turn out be the wildest, craziest mind-bending poisonous voyage, that leads them to have dredged up a conversation about their upbringing. The apparent tension between the two as the movie progresses confuses people as to what could this be leading into, a deep passionate kiss perhaps (?)
If i tell you your secret ... no one will love you?

The 180 flip in the last episode verifies that there is a special bond between Amy and Danny. Like what Steven Yeun expressed in one of their Netflix interviews, he said “There is nothing more intimate than fighting…you’re closer by association through that type of vulnerability” Amy and Danny found solace in each other's presence. They found that there are a lot of similarities in their upbringing, and they validate each other's existence; they see the true being that they are. Amy hugged Danny on his hospital bed after her husband George shot him in the tunnel. The scene represents the tender warmth they found in each other and they finally can meet with their beefy walls broken down. Their love for another is beyond sexual, beyond romantic, beyond family relations. It is a profound, transcendent union between two souls who have found a home in each other.
